Below you will find a list of places of interest to visit while on holiday at our bungalow. These are only a small example of the many attractions around the East Sussex area which are shown in our folder in situ.
* Eastbourne - probably the best and most uncommercialised holiday resort on the South Coast. Is renowned as the sunniest resort in the UK. Town centre and pier approx. 2 miles. Sovereign Harbour and village adjacent to bungalow and Kings Park.
* Beachy Head - part of the South Downs National Park - 4.5 miles - excellent walks and spectacular views of Eastbourne and the coast towards Hastings or Brighton
* Birling Gap & the Seven Sisters - 6 miles - explore the stunning coastline. National Trust Cafe adjacent to car park. ( Due to sea erosion there is a high probability the cafe may be closed, if so the near by Beachy Head, a Vintage Inn, offers food & drink.).
* Seven Sisters Country Park - 8 miles - Visitor Centre, tea rooms and picnic areas. Golden Hind Public House also close by serves good food. Follow the footpaths along the edge of the River Cuckmere to a wonderful pebble beach with excellent views of the Seven Sisters.
* Pevensey Castle - 2 miles - Discover the landing place of William the Conqueror in 1066 and explore the ruins of this formidable English Heritage Castle.
* Gardens, Grounds & Observatory of Herstmonceux Castle nr Hailsham - 10 miles - Renowned moated magnificent castle set in beautiful parkland with Elizabethan gardens. There is also a hands on science centre amongst the domes and telescopes of this world famous astronomical observatory.
* Drusillas Theme Park , Alfriston - 10 miles - Recently awarded 'Tourism South East Visitor Attraction of the Year'. Widelly regarded as the best small zoo in Europe! See Thomas the Tank Engine, experience Lemurland, Go Wild or Go Bananas. New in 2014 - Hello Kitty Secret Garden!
* Knockhatch Adventure Park - 7 miles - Enjoy a fun, action packed visit! Attractions include Wave Runner Water Slide, Runaway Train Simulator Ride, Froggies Indoor Softplay, Childrens Farm, Jumping Pillows, Rowing Boats and more!
* Brighton - 18 miles - One of the most famous holiday resorts on the South Coast. Visit the famous Brighton Royal Pavilion built as a holiday retreat for George, Prince of Wales who became Prince Regent in 1811. Shop in the Lanes for jewellery and antiques or why not experience Brighton Aquarium followed by a stroll along the pier.
* Hastings - 17 miles - A cosmopolitan seaside resort which is home to the largest beach-launched fishing fleet in Europe. The remains of the first castle in England built by William the Conqueror, a preserved Old Town and home to the Jerwood Gallery, a stunning new art gallery housing a collection of 20th & 21st Century British work never before seen by the public. Hastings is also one of the Cinque Ports.
